Evotec has won a contract for a trawler to New Zealand

February 21, 2024

"We are very pleased to have chosen Evotec, as we consider their winch and handling solutions to be next-generation systems. This will provide us with improved efficiency, as well as a more sustainable and economical solution," says Paul Hufflett, Managing Director of Aurora.

The trawler is currently being built at the Turkish Tersan Shipyard and is scheduled for delivery in 2025. The delivery from Evotec includes all winches for trawling and mooring. The delivery also includes Evotec MultiSoft Trawl™, which contributes dynamic performance, critical for the functionality of bottom trawling.

The Oceania market is interesting, and Evotec has established a sales and service center in Nelson, NZ. With a local presence and new-builds, we are positioned for further growth in the market.

The projects are developed in close collaboration with Skipsteknisk in Ålesund, and with the contracting of Leinebris earlier this year, this contract is the second in a row together with the design company.

"Our compact and robust low-weight solutions contribute positively in several areas. After a long and thorough process with tough international competition, we managed to meet the customer's expectations. The fact that the vessels will be operating on the other side of the globe is descriptive of how our solutions and expertise are evaluated," says Håkon Woldsund, sales manager at Evotec.

"Evotec's commitment to sustainable technology and efficient handling solutions for the fishing fleet has yielded good results. The company has quickly established itself as a market leader in the global market and has big ambitions for the future," says Jogeir Romestrand, CEO of Evotec.
