Evotec, a leading supplier of handling systems for the offshore industry, recently signed a contract to deliver two complete LARS systems (Launch and Recovery Systems) for the new building to Østensjø’s. The vessel, designed by Salt Ship Design, will be built by GONDAN Shipbuilders in Spain, with expected delivery in 2027.

The 120-meter-long vessel is designed to perform a wide range of offshore operations. The design ensures high efficiency and operational flexibility, enabling it to operate across multiple segments of the maritime industry.

Egil Arne Skare, Chief Project Officer at Østensjø, says:

Evotec’s delivery includes A-frames and umbilical winches, developed for safe, efficient, and reliable handling of ROVs and other underwater equipment. The systems are equipped with Evotec’s control technology, featuring active heave compensation, ensuring seamless integration and optimal operational efficiency.

One of the unique features of Evotec’s solution is the use of SRPM technology (Synchronous Reluctance Permanent Magnet). This innovative drive system offers:

• Lower energy consumption and environmental footprint, supporting sustainable operations.

• Weight savings and faster installation time, reducing construction costs and streamlining the shipyard process.
