New Fishing Boat Contract for Evotec

February 16, 2024

"We want to fish for the future and take care of the resources we have in the best possible way. We need to both think new and build new," says Paul Harald Leinebø. There has been a particular focus on utilizing all energy produced on board and the choice fell on Evotec, since the boat has electric deck equipment and winches.

Evotec's solutions have the very technology which is both forward-looking and sustainable that we have and that suits us at Leinebris, according to Paul Harald Leinebø. Evotec is sustainable through reduced energy consumption, reduced weight, and regeneration of energy, delivering the market's most space and weight-saving electric winches and handling equipment!

"Our compact solutions with low weight are essential for Leinebris, which aims to combine various tools. After a thorough process, it is pleasing that Leinebris chose us as a supplier, a local Norwegian supplier. Our commitment within fisheries has hit the market well, now we have 5 vessels in operation and 12 in production," says Håkon Woldsund, Sales Manager for Fisheries at Evotec AS."

Unique combination vessel

The new Leinebris will also be the first vessel to combine both line, seine, and gillnet fishing. This will provide flexibility to use the gear that makes the least climate impact.

Boat delivery in 2025

The newbuild is planned to be ready for fishing in about two years. The boat has been designed by Skipstekniske and will be built at the Tersan Shipyard.

Evotec is one of the companies in the Entec Group, based in Ulsteinvik.

Evotec AS has extensive experience in the design, engineering, fabrication, installation, commissioning, and start-up of market-adapted handling systems. Whether it's for the Fisheries, Research, Subsea, Offshore, Wind, or Aquaculture markets, we have systems that are tailored to each individual project, focusing on optimized and efficient solutions," says Jogeir Romestrand, CEO of Evotec AS.
